VeriCAV is a modular and flexible platform to allow Automated Vehicles to be efficiently tested in simulated environments. VeriCAV automates the process of generating and analysing complex driving scenarios populated with other realistically-behaving road users.

Automating the selection of test conditions to stress the decision-making algorithms of the system-under-test, optimise overall test coverage, and to simulate richness and variability of the real-world. Test conditions include road geometry, other road user behaviour and environmental conditions.

Smart Actors.

Realistic Behaviour.

Smart actor controllers are needed to replicate the real-world behaviour of other actors, such as human-driven vehicles or pedestrians. These actors will have their own route objectives, react to decisions made by the Automated Vehicle, and follow traffic laws with the same degree of variability as real traffic.

Test Oracle.

Automating the Evaluation.

The test oracle performs automated analysis of the actions taken by the Automated Vehicle – minimising time-consuming human inspection. Factors for assesment by the oracle include Driving safety, road etiquette and asessment of progress made.
